The practice I've been quietly devoted to for over 2 years

For the past two years, I made a quiet vow to devote my daily living and yoga teaching to the vayus which are the five sacred movements of life force energy.

What started as curiosity became a full-bodied devotion, completely by accident.

Each class, I explored one vayu more deeply. Noticing how it showed up in my breath, my teaching, my relationships, even my rest. I began weaving the vayus into everything I offered on the mat with my students, and off the mat in my daily rituals, family life, and self-care.

Some days it looked like feeling Apana in my grounding walks through nature. Other days, like awakening Udana in moments of inspiration and voice.

And through it all, I discovered something: the vayus aren't just ancient philosophy. They're living, breathing guides that remind us how to move with life, not against it.

A quick note first- if you were considering Sacred Seasons, registration for this round is now closed. But if what you were really craving was some slow-down, tune-in, learn-something-that-changes-how-you-move-through-your-days energy... I think you're going to want to keep reading.

The 40-Day Vayu Sadhana starts October 1st.

Six weeks, one vayu at a time

  • Apana (grounding, letting go)
  • Samana (digestion, assimilation)
  • Vyana (circulation, connection)
  • Udana (expression, voice)
  • Prana (perception, receiving)
  • We finish with a final integration week to bring it all home

You'll get practices dropped Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays plus two live calls to gather and go deeper together (details on format below).

  • Pre-recorded practices (10-20 min) every Monday, Thursday & Saturday.
  • Two live Saturday integration Zoom calls (20 min) 8am CST

Breathwork, mudra, yoga asana, flower essences, ways to move that week and journaling prompts connected to that week's vayu.Simple rituals you can actually sustain in real life.

There is no falling behind or pressure to perform your healing. There is no needing to be "good" at yoga. We are building a steady rhythm to connect you more deeply to your nervous system.

Live calls will be October 3rd and Nov. 7th at 8am CST.

This one's on a sliding scale, because I want it to be accessible to whoever's being called to it right now.

👉 Join the Sadhana - We start October 1st

If this is new information to you but are curious.. Breaking down complex yoga topics and making them digestible is one of my super powers and you will leave the 6 weeks with an understanding of how to balance your dosha based on the vayus.

Happy Fall Equinox as we now enter the vata season and the vayus are related to the vata dosha so it all weaves together in perfect harmony.

Andrea

PS- My in-person Yin/Acupuncture class with my friend Nara did fill up very quickly I didn't even get to tell you about on Nov. 7th You can still join the waiting list which is also half full! So a good sign we will offer this class again : )

Confession: on Sunday morning I woke up, came downstairs, sat at my computer, and thought, "I should probably come up with a new way to bring people to my website" because #pitta. And I'm tired of the generic wellness freebies, download this guide, take this quiz to find your dosha. I wanted something with a little more flavor, something that felt like me. Then it hit me. I'd be recording our annual Hallmark Christmas preview episode for Hallmark Mysteries & More, and I thought: what if I...

Reader, what's the sweet treat you keep reaching for even when it's keeping you stuck? A few weeks I taught a yin yoga class at our new studio. The theme was non-attachment/aparigraha, one of yoga's most quietly radical teachings. I told the story of Hanuman and the coconut trap: a hollowed-out coconut filled with treats, with a hole just big enough to fit a hand inside. The monkey reaches in, grabs the treat, and then can't pull his fist back out. He's not trapped by the coconut. He's...

As we transition from Spring to Summer schedules change, routines shift and time seems to fly especially if you live in a cold weather state, Reader. Well the summer can feel so fleeting, Ayurveda has a few practices to help you stay grounded and cool all season long. Self-care is a key tool for the pitta dosha. Here are 3 self-care ideas for the summer if one jumps out to you, start there. If none take a breath, close your eyes and ask yourself what does my body crave this summer for...
